Acclaimed as a technothriller set in the age of the Medicis by Publishers Weekly, Eric Flint's best-selling Ring of Fire series has redefined the alternate-history genre.

In this 10th novel, auto mechanic Bernie Zeppi heads to Moscow to bring Russia into the Industrial Revolution, 300 years ahead of schedule. War with Poland looms, but Bernie is more focused on a beautiful Russian noblewoman. Can he protect them both from the power struggles raging inside the Kremlin?

" I was surprised by this one. The Rus portrayal was striking accurately done to my limited knowledge. I still have problems disbelieving the social hacks but a good yarn that attracts the attention. "

" The 1632 series is my guilty pleasure. It's an alternative history fiction series based on a West Virginia town being plunked down in Germany in the middle of the 30 Years War. This episode has a plucky young WV slacker who goes to Russia and brings indoor plumbing and hot air balloons. So far. "

" This turned out much better than I thought it would. I had read parts before in various Grantville Gazettes and they were OK, but having everything together with the cracks filled in made the tale coherent. Of course, there had to be a cliffhanger ending. "

" It's nice to get another book in the series that's not a rambling collection. The books with a tight focus are my favorites. "
